Edificata tra il 1711 e il 1713 dall’architetto veneziano Paolo Tremignon per il vescovo Giovanni Francesco Bembo, fu residenza vescovile estiva per tutto il XVIII secolo.
Occupata dai militari francesi ed austriaci dopo la caduta di Venezia, subì gravi danneggiamenti, tra cui la totale distruzione del ciclo di affreschi interni realizzati nel 1718 da Sebastiano e Marco Ricci: ne è sopravvissuto un solo frammento, oggi al Museo Civico, mentre ne rimane un disegno d’insieme realizzato da Osvaldo Monti.

Built between 1711 and 1713 by the venetian architect Paolo Tremignon for the bishop Giovanni Francesco Bembo, it remained the bishop’s summer residence for the whole of XVIII century. It suffered severe damages when occupied by the French and Austrian army after the fall of Venice, with the complete destruction of the cycle of frescoes painted in 1718 by Sebastiano and Marco Ricci: one single remaining fragment is now in the Museo Civico, where there is also a drawing of the painting that was sketched by Osvaldo Monti.
