Ampliamento cinquecentesco di una cappella del XIV secolo, probabilmente sorta sui resti di una delle case fortificate della famiglia da Bolzano (stemma sull’architrave della porta laterale), abbattuta per ordine di Venezia nel 1421. Le pareti dell’abside e l’arco trionfale hanno affreschi della prima metà del XVI secolo, mentre è seicentesca la decorazione della volta absidale. Interessante il dossale ligneo rinascimentale, ampliato alla fine del Seicento. Particolarmente scenografica la grande scalinata di accesso alla chiesa, situata sul punto più alto del paese.

XVI century enlargement of a chapel from the XIV century, probably part of the fortified house – destroyed in 1421 by the Venetians – of the noble family da Bolzano, whose coat of arms is still visible, carved in the stone of the architrave of the side entrance. The wall of the apse and the triumphal arch have frescoes from the first half of XVI century, while the decoration of the apse vault dates from the XVII century. The Renaissance wooden altar wall decoration, enlarged at the end of XVI century, is very interesting. Particularly scenic also the big stone staircase leading to the church, which is built on a hill in the highest point of the village of Bolzano Bellunese.
