Villa Buzzati

On an earlier XVI century residence of the Sacello family, mostly notaries and pharmacists, admitted in the city noble council in 1547 and extinguished in 1735, Cesare Buzzati ordered the construction of the current complex, which is an example of the romantic atmosphere of the early XIX century. The neogothic elements were added at the end of the century. The exterior is decorated with XIX century frescoes by Moretti-Larese, Vizzotto-Alberti, Pompeo Molmenti and others. It was the birthplace and summer residence of the writer and painter Dino Buzzati (Belluno 1906-Milan 1972). On the outside, facing the road, there is the little characteristic church of San Pellegrino, built in 1531 by Giacomo Sacello, where Dino Buzzati was buried.
