The ancient parish church dates back to the XII century, then in the XIV century, in the year 1502 and finally it underwent a radical reconstruction in the mid XIX century, following a design by the local architect Giuseppe Segusini (1803-1876). The neoclassical interior still houses the earlier XVII and XVIII century altars. Among its many art pieces, it contains paintings by Cesare Vecellio (the assumption of Mary dated 1586) and other paintings by Antonio Vassilacchi called “Aliense”, Francesco Frigimelica and others. Also noteworthy is the organ by Callido. On the outside wall are fixed two stone inscriptions recording the presence and the activity of the parish priests Pierio Valeriano, the great Renaissance scholar, and Giovanni Arlotti.
